I know you don't want us to use paypal - but I think that might be delaying lot of contributions.
Here is my case - I have a very hectic work schedule -so by the time I go home I forget to write and send a check. If I could do paypal then would be no problem as I can do from any where - work - from phone - anywhere.
Just a thought.. I have been planning to send $50 or so but kept on forgetting. Don't get me wrong but telling the truth here.

I just read first page of this thread and would advice that don't follow most of reply because they are lawyers or they have not gone through the experience you are going through. $4000 may not be big amount compared to hassle of law suite , piece of mind or the amount of increase you may have received by switching employer. I know a close person who had gone through exactly same situation in NJ and had to pay 12,000 to settle the case. I have seen bunch of people in same situation and my friend always adviced them to stay away from law suite. If your current employer is not big then there are greater chances that it will turn away from you in case of law suite.
If you are not working with same client that you were working when you were in company A then non-compete may not hold against you.
Also can you get in writing from you current employer that they will support you in case of law suite?

He did not leave within couple of months for crying out loud. Some of the desi employers are so greedy and unethical that even after you slog with them for years, they still want to hold on to something just to prove they are employer/boss. This is a lesson for people wanting to help their employers business. I would tell them that it is none of their business to help their employer�s business.

Many in this forum including IV admins censored COMMUNIQUE a while back. Now people know COMMUNIQUE was right, because see CIR has no future. It is a waste of time and money invest in lobbying campaigns for pro amnesty bills.
Let's start our campaign for our own bill immediately. There is no motive to wait. We should pay lobbysts and ask them to approach lawmakers using the argument that legal immigrants need a relief without waiting for amnesty bills for illegal aliens.

The only (long but possible) way to achieve some results is massive attack of the media. Average American people should realize the problem of the legal immigrants and THEY should start pressing the lawmakers for resolution. In fact there is a very simple solution - every H1/L1 visa should be covered by a GC option, providing that the immigrant has covered all requirements. And the USCIS administration should be pushed to do their job. Now, cunningly, uncle Sam (I would better say the "Edited" people) allows white collar slaves to come to the US, but hides the GC when time comes.
To be honest, I really believe that in 10-15 years time this problem will not exist anymore. Reasons? Several: First, the main donoring countries of white collar slaves are in process of sharp development and soon this source of "blood transfusion" to US will start drying up. Second, with the aging baby-boomers the need of "blood transfusion" will increase. Third, the high flow of low qualified legal/illegal Latinos changes the fabric of the American society and turns it into a Latin-American country, with all negative consequences, so the need of high tech immigrant component will increase. There are more factors but these three are enough.
So, if we are patient, in 10-15 years time the USCIS administration will start sending invitation ads all over the world, inviting legals and we would become proud holders of GCs :-)

Even though right now FB2 is not far behind the gap will progressively increase due to post given below. Consider 2 glasses half full. If you pour 50% water from 1 glass to another 1 glass will be 75% full(EB) and other glass will be 25%full(FB).
Even if FB 2 almost has same priority date as EB 2 or 3 once the EB dependents quota gets counted against FB quota almost half of the EB backlog would move to FB which will cause progression in EB dates and retrogression in FB dates. Anyway I think simple1 point is definitely a good point and worthy of further discussion and clarification from attorneys.

Dear EB3 folks, please don't get discouraged by the Sept visa bulletin, let's keep our focus contacting congressmen/women, USCIS and DOS to push on a fair policy, of using the visa spillover against cases with older priority dates. Also for all other folks, who don't support this, we are just trying our best to get a push somehow to stay along with others in the queue, moving forward, instead of quietly watching, so please do not discourage. If you don't support or have a better solution, please start your own forum for further discussion instead of discouraging the folks in this forum.

When the cases gets shuffled around the country from NSC to CSC and back, the dtabases are separate. FP notices are generated when information on different databases are alligned together.

I think the Congresswoman who spoke out on this issue used to be an immigration lawyer prior to taking up public office & she mentions in her letters to DHS that this may be a potential violation of the law.

Is there premium for I485?
I am not a lawyer but as far as I know there is no Premium for 485. They mentioned they will want to do it at some point in the future but it is not yet available for this application.
