I was looking at the processing times for the NSC 485 applications and it shows March , 2007.
Does it mean that all June 1st filers will be getting their 485 approvals by September ( barring any RFE and name check delays)???
Or is it Wishful Thinking???

Its not about stereotyping...its about being fair....how can people who have come here illegally be allowed a path to naturalization while we have been waiting in line for so long? I came here because I had a certain idea about the makeup and composition and ideology of this country (liberty, equality, etc.) Making such a move will invariably change the demographic of the nation. Now that would be an intentional act. Not the natural pace at which migration/assimilation and diversification occurs. I have nothing against that.
Would somebody call you racist if you say that you dont want to move to a ghetto because the standard of living is not good? NO. The fact that you dont want to move to a ghetto does not mean that you are prejudiced about the people who live there.
The statement about corruption and inefficiencies is not slander but just a simple observation. If you dont agree with that, then most likely you would prefere to live in/immigrate to some Latin country instead of being here/coming to USA.
I wont open the argument about the burden the illegal people will put on welfare etc. considering that they are typically from a income bracket that does not contribute much to taxes.

I took a printout of the receiver's signature image and the tracking information from the Fedex website just in case.
My attorney also mentioned that he submitted my case to the NSC liaison (I think he is referring to the AILA liaison of the NSC center) for follow up to see if they can help confirm the status of my application.
I'll keep you posted on the progress.

We would all like to part of a rally or protest but why give us only one days notice? Surely most people will not have read this post by tomorrow. We should organize this properly by sending out the message to the community well in advance and getting the required permits (I mean if you want this to be in any way successful that is).

Since GC is for *future* job, why can't self-employment in same/similar occupation, under AC21 and with *projected* revenues, be enough? Answer: No. As noted above the relevant inquiry is if the new position is the same or similar occupational classification to the alien’s I-140 employment. A difference in the wage offered on the approved labor certification, initial I-140 and the new employment cannot be used as a basis of a denial. However, a substantial discrepancy between the previous and the new wage may be taken into consideration as a factor in determining if the new employment is “same or similar.”
Pls note that with current recession/depression, the "prevailing wages" for same/similar occupations have gone down--drastically in some cases (esp. IT). Also, you could open/register your LLC (by spending $400) for your self-employment to sound more "legitimate"--but that's certainly not a requirement.

However, they should be in a position to show documentary evidence that they are making similar money as per 140, and importantly they are doing same kind of work when self employed, and they have a long term commitment/contract for their bussiness. I had been in US for 6 years and has a PD of October 2006, that means i have to wait a long time to get my GC. but i got my back up plans prepared. It tends to irriate me but the only way to solve is to get involved in some kind of activity. I would suggest get involved in IV. Atleast you will feel much better that you are helping a community that lead you to get your GC soon.

I am very new to this forum and have been spending some time here just over the past few weeks. I am trying to learn the ropes of this EB green card system. As someone pointed, I belong to those on the "fence" not knowing what or how to be effective with my time and money in these efforts. I like this thread and I think I want to begin my involvement through this effort.
My opinion is that we don't need a 1000 people to contribute to reach $100000 for the effort. Those who are willing to give $100 would not, I think, hesitate to give another $100 or even more to speed up the process. I for one will contribute $200 and if necessary more for this effort.

Please send them MAN-WOMAN-GC ASAP . He has gracefully offered to maintain a spreadhseet.
Once we reach the number of resources, we will have conference calls, meet in person whoever can, arrange for money, decide on lawyers ( which MadhuVJ has some very good suggestions ) and move on from there

same way you prove that in the case of I-140... by writing up letters exlaining job duties... and showing offer letter, pay stubs, company tax returns and/or quarterly tax receipts, client contracts... etc etc etc... again: what is your true point? why do you suspect that this is difficult?

SORRY Fellas, I cannot send this out unless the provision for H1b nenewal be added to it. I know IVs main concern is reg the backlogged GC cases, however, I would request that future of the H1b should also be addresed. I now feel that even contributing to the IV was a mistake because you are not taking a broader view of this issue. Please try to include the clauses affecting H1bs also in your letters. Particularly simple technical aspects like renewing H1b beyond the 6 years period is a MUST and one of the things that can be MOST easily achieved if asked for.

You have been quietly browsing this website all this time and suddenly became a member and started whining and complaining of what IV is doing. You don't need to get hyperactive and start freaking out. Relax and do what IV is requesting you to do at this time. There are a lot of items & issues IV is working on and they have prioritized some of them as very important which affects the larger members of this group. These important ones are what they are concentrating for now. If you do not like what IV is doing, you are more then welcome to move on and do what pleases you. But please stop discouraging & instigating other members with your stupid comments.
