I too have been in this country since 1998 and have a priority date of 2004 EB-2.
The one way I cope with the endless stream of bad news from the monthly visa bulletins is by remembering that with every passing day the the reality of having a GC is getting closer and not further. Many times I have contemplated giving it all up and going back to my upper middle class comforts of good old Bangalore, but then I remind myself that I have probably endured most of the pain and quitting at this point is like walking away from a marathon with the finish line only few miles away (or maybe not).
Comapre your GC wait to a marathon and decide if you are too close to the finish line to give it up or if it is so far away that alternate avenues need to be pursued.
Admittedly DOS is moving the finish line like a baby brandishing a new toy, but lets be realistic in assuming that EB India priority dates have been pushed much further back than needed. This maybe a knee jerk reaction due to the July fiasco.
Anyways, all I am trying to say is that hang in there and dont give up. If you still feel depressed seek medical help.

Don't like EB-3 dates...but looking at EB-2 dates, does this mean that from now on we will see only forward movement in EB-2 I/C dates?
If the first month of the new year didn't retrogress, would every month see a movement of week or two? Or keeping in great USCIS tradition, this is just another 'fluke'? ;)
Ya I presume your assumption is right regarding EB-2 forward movement. But on a whole the EB-2 India/China dates havent forwarded up to my predictions. But we could expect a steady and consistent movement of EB-2 India/China ahead.

You need to show legal ground to file the case. First, read I-9 form.
From legal point of view, Employer has no legal obligation to file H-1B for any job applicant. Infact, employer can chose not to file H-1B extension for current employee.

2010 I guess Employer cannot revoke I-140 after 180 days - You may want to check

This is my first post.
My Employer's Inhouse Attorney ( one of big 4 ) says technically EB dependents ( all 1,2,3) must be classified under FAMILY quota. USCIS mis classifies them under EMPLOYMENT quota.
Is he technically correct ?
Since, Most of dependents will not be affected when they are classified under Family quota (as they have AP and EAD).
Can IV possibly consider for push for reclassification of Dependents under Family Quota ? This will reduce backlog.
Please don't take it out of context, I am not trying to hurt any EB dependents, I too have a spouse working part time using beneficiary EAD. This is more of an open question.
Will you join our hands in recapture ? Will you considering contributing to IV. I will be happy if you can activlly participate in our effort.
This guy is here to divide us on one more point. People who has filled AOS VS Poeple who didnot.
People whose spouses have EAD and AP will go for it while people whose spouses doesnot have EAD AP will oppose it . This is very well game played by Anti. Be aware..

The plan that mirage is talking about is to contact only the lawmakers who are already well versed with immigration.
Now; senators/congressmen who don't have much knowledge and you present to them why the country quota, etc., should be changed; will be given evidence through their research of what is going on with h-1b, labors in fast procesing states, etc., In this environment where there is sentiment against immigration it will fall on deaf ears and maybe even skew things in the future for you with the politicians because they are getting insight into this stuff at the wrong time.

No approvals today? Whats going on???
There were a couple of approvals today from TSC by looking at the other site.But slowed down a lot. Maybe USCIS is taking a break this last week and preparing for the next month:)

This may sound optimistic and promising, but in essence sending random rhetoric using off message statements like "Erase Backlog Now" conflicts with our targeted messaging. To the observer on the Hill (i.e. in Congress) it all sounds more like a noise without a coherent message.
I'm sure you would agree that "no harm in trying" and "Leave no stone unturned" doesn't mean diluting our effort or sending incoherent message. That is why we need to have a single voice sending the same targeted message each time, otherwise we will just sound like awkward noise.
Can't agree less. We all have one goal. We are all one voice. In my personal opinion, I always try and stay optimistic.

I know man....i called them today and refered to their latest update ....and they bluntly ask to wait for atleast 90 days before they can provide any info...

My guess is Eb3 India will not be current this year. From other Law firm site I observe that we will see mini version of what happend last year so I guess Eb2 I will be current .. ( Not because I am Eb2 ( I ) ) . Eb3 ROW will be C guys soon..

I had taken an infopass appointment after filing an SR. All the IO said was I should call NSC. I don't think the IO's at the local USCIS office can issue FP notices.
Shall try again sometime this week or next and update the same here. I am a NSC->CSC->NSC transferee.

There was and continues to be lot of discussion around multiple 485s. When USCIS is adjudicating a 485, they look at other pending 485s and cancel them. I had two 485s - 1 on EB3 and the other EB2. EB2 became current recently. They approved the EB2 one and rejected the EB3. So you can have multiple 485s.

This thread was opened for working on Action Item. EB2-I community is giving all stupid reasons to divert us from our Action Item. Please stay focused and lets work on Action Items.
We already sent petition to support those three bills. What else shall we do now. We are running out of time and only few days left before Congress goes on recess (or whatever the term is). WE MUST ACT NOW.

Send flowers to DOS/USCIS thanking them for holding us at 2001 and thank them in advance for having decided to hold us at 2001 in 2009.
May be guys in 2001 and 2002 can send them something bigger/better - send them tree saplings.May be you guys will get your GC when those trees yield.
