Even if the republicans loose heavily but retain control of congress, they will be mortally wounded and so things will be hard to predict. The stock market has betted that control of both houses will remain with GOP.
That's why I said before;some people are pretty sure that if democrats win, we will be alright. In my view it may turn out to be the opposite. Democrats favor illegal immigration. I think they are less inclined to pass our SKULL bill alone. I strongly believe that that democrats would rather attach our bill to the CIR/illegal alien amnesty bill, which still will be controversial to pass. Even if Sen. Specter and his team manage to flood America with illegal aliens, then we may take a hit from the collateral effects caused by millions of applications at USCIS.

Agree to all of them. but biggest thing to beat them all above in US is Medical insurance. you can live here in this country as long as everything is going well.
Talk about the Job situ, if you are out of job for a month, its a hell..but not in India.

I applied on June 12th, received 13th and notice date June 16th. I see some approvals for those who applied in that time frame and also some pending for those who have receipt date in May. Is the approvals being done randomly?

Thanks for the reply, Do you mean proceed with corp-to-corp between current Y(employer) and Prior-employer X(by paying h1b tranfer fee). Sign the Agreement with Employer X to continue GC and then sue them ? ?hmmm... interesting.
Before accepting an Employement with company X, if there would have been an agreement stating they will sponsor my green card (atleast the paperwork), that would have helped me.. hard luck..

yeah.. even ND is not being followed... and why give a PD when they have to follow ND anyways ? So wait for 5 years in queue and then due to USCIS lottery system my application gets assigned a later ND... i have to suffer ??? WOW ... that's nice.... that's what's called INJUSTICE...

We came to know only few of the once who have posted in other forums that they got GC with PD as fresh as Jan2007, and they posted it in the forum because they were afraid if their GCs would ever be reverted....
So, I think there are probably a lot more out there who might have got the GC and are keeping it quite, so that they don't stir up the folks who are waiting so patiently (which of course is weaning thin by the day!!).
Totally unfair, unjustified.
Maybe we should..........
1) Send letters to USCIS, highlighting the plight of those waiting patiently and folks who joined recently got the GC. Send anonymous letters if you fear of being put under the scanner.
2) All the IT folks who are here in the US are probably in the higher 10% bracket. Maybe we all should collectively hire a lobby group in Washington. That's the only solution, it works well.

I am happy to see some beginings here.. although we have had many many threads before for this kind of initiative but I see some difference here... Like some others said we need to draft an action plan from A to Z here (understood that it may not be exactly what we would be following over time but), we need some roadmap to follow to reach our target.
I like the idea of collecting info about who is willing to contribute and I am all for it.
btw, option 1 is not an option for me.

my lawyer just faxed me my I-485 receipt.
Center: NSC
RD: 26th July (sent on 25th July)
ND: 22nd Aug
140 was approved at NSC. No LUDs on my approved I-140 or H1s.
Attorney sent his checks, so don't know whether those checks are cleared or not.

I agree with nousername and sledgehammer. It's funny how people justify unethical behavior by saying hey everybody is just trying to improve their own lives. Criminals are trying to improve their own life too and that doesn't excuse crime. The issue here is simple. This lady went for the quick and easy way out, applied for an H1B with some sleazy body shopper without having a project in hand and in the process, no doubt deprived someone better-deserving who actually had a job in hand.
Anyways, if you are not being paid, you are out of status. Best option for you is to apply for a COS to H4 right away so your out-of-status time doesn't come back to haunt you later. Without pay stubs it is doubtful that it will be approved so most probably you might have to go back to your home country and re-enter on an H4 stamp.
or if you are not getting paid you can complain to labor department. Your employer is that body shopper and he should pay you for the period of your h1. He has proved that he has capacity to pay you by filing for LCA and h1b. you having a project was never a condition for you getting paid from your employer. complain to labor department or USCIS if you are not getting paid.

I agree with you vin13, remove country quota or by number of years we are legally here in US.
Base on PD is not fare enough. Many of us filed GC vary late because of one or many reasons.
