AP expiry doesn't mean out of status. If paroled into US and the I-485 is in process means no problem.
But if you are on EAD and not renewed EAD means, you can't work till you have received a new EAD.
AP need only going abroad. IT IS BETTER TO HAVE IN HAND, FOR USING AN EMERGENCY TRAVEL.

My EB3 I-140 and I-485 (India) is pending from NSC my PD is Aug 2004.My wife is a citizen of South Africa she is also in H1B visa and derivvative of my I-485.Now it is possible for me to change the country of chargeability to South Africa, If possible can we able to get our GC in the month of March?

Remember, USCIS only tells us "total" I-485 receipts. They don't break it down to what many of us are interested to know, which is, how many are family based and how many are employment based. There is no way to know how many of the 150K receipts issued in Sept for I-485 were EB.
FB and EB combined annual limit is 366,000 immigrant visas (226K FB + 140K EB)
That total also includes Asylum/refugee, DV lottery and Immediate Relatives.

Is there any way to know if employer has revoked your 140. I have an approved 140 & pending 485. After filing 485 I left my company before completing 180 days. Its more than 9 months since I left my employer. Will the status change on USCIS web if 140 was revoked.

I believe one will be eligible for SS after attaining 40 credits. There is no residency requirement. WRT 401K, you might ending up paying a penalty of 10% in addition to 30% tax.

being current means nothing, belive me, I filed 485 in March 2004 when everything was current for almost an year, we need IV reform the system to better work for Highly skilled professionals,
I know in coming months many of us might get GC, including many in IV-core team, but I would like to IV go further after getting GC to continue their effort to put a closure by passing SKILL as a law which is our goal

2) Illegal Immigrants: MORE THAN 12 million with a HUGE chunk of the Hispanic CITIZENS to back them up.
Even the citizens who DO oppose Illegal immigration, SIMPLY OPPOSE illegal immigration, but DO NOT SUPPORT legal immigration per se.
Please DO NOT make the mistake of taking on the CHC at this point, it is a fight that is IMPOSSIBLE for us to win and POINTLESS to even fight. If we win against the CHC (big IF), we win NOTHING, if we lose, we now have bigger problems.

I already have an EB3 I-485 pending through my current employer. I have EB2, I-140 approval with future employer,
2) Is it possible to file second EB2 I-485 through my future employer?
3) If file second 485, what will be affect on pending I-485?

I believe the intention of not moving too much beyond jul 06 , may be to make some spill over benfit happen to EB3 also. If they open the gate for EB2 now, lots of 485 application may come in and there may not be spill over to EB3. :)

hey Waiting Game,
the consulate in mumbai is in a very expensive area called 'breach candy' its like the beverly hills in CA.
however, u may get decent stay outside 'Dadar' or 'bombay central' railway station. these are close to the consulate but since u have a morning hour commute towards downtown mumbai, it will take at least 30-45 minutes. so give urself adequate time. avoid 'bandra', churchgate, grant road areas.
if u just need to spend the nite, u can spend it on the airport.
let know if any questions and wish u all the best.
