I send my Employment based I-485/I-765/I-131 application on June 29th 2007 and received at NSC on July 2nd 2007 (USPS Express mail tracking no. XXXX). It�s more than 100 days and I didn�t even received the Receipt Number for all the applications.
I have following question for CIS Ombudsman�s office:
1) Per US Law, I have to get the EAD in 90 days of filling of my application? How I can get the EAD in 90 days where I didn�t even get the Receipt Number after 100 days?
2) Why �First In First Out (FIFO)� process is not followed by USCIS for receipting? It�s unfair to applicant like me when application filed on August 17th 2007 enjoying the EAD card and able to work.
3) What action you can will take to force USCIS follow their own operational manual guidelines and follow FIFO in future?

It seems like the deeper we are in the process of GC the more time we spend tracking and speculating on the next week or the week after.
This week is going to be critical for the Notices because if we don't get them by 8/17 the following weeks are going to be even worse.
I'm tempted to call because of the time that has passed and becasue my checks also are dated 6/15.

My 140( in 2006) was from TSC and 485 from NSC

I have a question regarding the 180 day rule. I am a July 2nd filer, got EAD and AP and did my FP. my I-140 was also approved in oct 2007. So, I will be meeting the 180 day rule and I-140 approved criteria in jan 2nd,08.
Can I change job after Jan 2nd or I have to wait for 180 days from the time of 140 approval date. I think if its from 485 receipt date, I do meet 180 days rule and am safe to move on with another job/employer.
I know this question should had been asked by other members also, but I don't want to search all threads.
Looking for some genuine answers instead of thread bashings.

you need to look at the money that you must have earned/saved and then be happy about it. also the system sucks but they made it that way for a purpose. US doesnot want a flood of immigrants and hence these quotas. ofcourse because of the strict system they had to face a bigger problem i.e. illegal immigration. In the end you need to realise that the only country which has open arms for you is your home country.
my friend correctly told me ..if uscis tells me that I have to go back ..I will pack in a day and go back. we know english and have computer skills, we will get a job anywhere in the world.
also focus on the positives ..for eg I am happy that because of these delays I didnt run and buy a house in usa (which is one of the worst investments that a person can make).

My wife and I submitted affidavits about the date of birth. We received our approvals 10 days without any RFEs about those affidavits.

It should be children born OUTSIDE of US not INSIDE!!!!
It is correct. We are talking about both kinds of kids. And saying that not having greencard affects the quality of life for the family.

My app was sent to NSC on 7/2 but I-140 approved from TSC. Still no receipts, no checks encashed. Called USCIS, and they asked me to call after 90 days. Any ideas ? Is anyone else in the same boat ?

Okay - so I know this is premature....but just today I logged into my CRIS account and I saw that they've touched my case on Aug 25th!!
Probably not a big deal for anyone but MEEEE!!!
And my priority date is July 17th 2006- so people there are numbers available for September. :) :)

I am enraged.
We Indians deserve to be waiting forever without Greencard.
This is why EB3 Indiots will be waiting forever for their greencard. We Indians come to USA and still behave like the pictures in these links. We throw sh** on the forum and criticize each other. I think it is ironic that we (from India) complain about quota on GC when we are the masters of quotas whether it be in education, workplace, politics etc. I myself was not affected by quotas in India, but I know several friends who were, simply because they were born in "upper caste" and therefore had to be denied opportunities as "revenge" for the injustice meted out by their ancestors several centuries ago, instead of being based on economics.
I personally think GC quota has a rationale behind it. It allows for a reasonable share to go to smaller countries so that the US population maintains its diversity. Besides, near the end of the year, if the numbers are unused, they are rolled over to larger countries like India and China, thereby automatically eliminating the quota.
EB based GC should NOT have Quota (.) We are already IN the system. How will it effect diversity. Diversity visa are meant for divesrsity. EB is skill based and only skill should be cared for,

What drives the decision for a bill to be considered in Congress/Senate? WHY can't we pitch SKIL or TALENT Bills as a means to separate legal immigration from the ongoing CIR debate?
If politicians are introducing these bills, they should be willing to back them up separtely instead of saying that these come into picture only if CIR fails. Or is the introduction of other bills a sign of CIR's imminent failure? Since the top IV team has the visibility with politicians, this hypocrisy should be resolvable. Please tell us why these bills cannot be taken up while CIR is pending? Isn't that what the lobbying company is supposed to help us with?

Restarted the process again in 2006 due to job change.
Two things that help me.
1) Personally meeting lawmakers and making it obvious to them how screwed up their policies are.
2) Being ready to go back. After all, the country where i was born and spent the first 25 yrs of my life cannot be that impossible for me to live in.
Been in the US since 1998, have an EB-2 PD of 2001, have played by the rules all along. Still no GC... And, the dates are going back to 2000 from the new year.. I've lost hopes...
I'm pretty close to getting clinical depression because of this game played by USCIS, Labor Dept, FBI and my own bad luck.
SKILL bill, OMNIBUS, etc. comes and goes. IV does seem to be doing things to lobby for the community, but let's face one reality. Like a news article said, no one in congress or senate wants to touch immigration even with a long pole until 2009.
The US has been very good to me (other than the GC part), more than my home country (India) which is why I'm still here.
Have invested too much of time in this country to just pack up and go. Just curious if any of you feel this way? How do you handle such depressing feelings?

Do u think admins should ban people from expressing views if joined after a certain cutoff date???
