Here is my prediction.
With July Fiasco INS has learnt their lessons.
They have potential to process and approve 40K cases in one month.
Once all receipting is done by Sept 17th for all late Aug 17th filers, they will immediately start processing all oct 08 current cases.
I think they might even issue again 40K cases in october ?
Why not ?
So it is important to quickly do the FP and after FP within 3 weeks the name check gets cleared.
So anyone who does FP in Sept and who is current in oct , be ready to get your GC soon.
I would say dont be surprised if it takes just one month to approve ?????

Hardly an hour passed by when I got email from CRIS saying " welcome ..." reminding me of Eagles song "welcome to hotel california ...", this was the very song, I heard for first time while waiting for TOFEL exam in summer of 1999 in Delhi. Oh... such a wonderful place.

Dont let the lack of GC limit you from achieving your goals. Dont get me wrong, we should fight for our GCs, but at the same time, dont let the desire to get GC stop you from achieving your goals.

Definitely an idea worth considering. Of late we hvae had too many "new members" who turn out to be 2-3 post wonders - get their questions answered and vanish without a trace. But given the subsidy mentality prelavent among our "educated and skilled" community, I doubt the idea will fly.

WOW...its amazing to see how a simple thing (in my opinion) like volunteering can be such a big deal.
While it is legal to work on a L-4 why are H-4s not allowed to work? Beats me!
yes - unfortunately that's how it is. The simple funda is "never work for free". it is a competitive and exploitative world - I have seen so many people working as volunteers coming as contractors for 2 months , 3 months work - they get hired by unscrupulous managers who want to get work done for free. They are promised employment after 3 months contract and all sweet words ... this happens in big companies too - they will use and throw you to keep their job. Many a time they may not even acknowledge that you were there.
Keep looking for a job and work hard towards a job - you will definitely get one.

GC is for future employment but I-140 is not GC. I-485 is Adjustment of status to Permanent resident (GC).
If you leave the company prior I-140 approval. I-140, I-485, EAD & AP are canceled.
If your I-140 is approved and I-485 is pending for more than 180 days, then and only then, you can switch company using AC21 while still keeping your I-485 pending.
Mind you, I-140 is not your application, it is employers!
See my previous statement. There is nothing in the law that states one needs to 'work' for a company when I140 is being processed. Period.

Based on this situation, if Company does not revoke your I-140, but closes it's doors, what happens? Does that preclude that the 140 is null void?

Hi Michael, nice shots. It's easy to see that you brought the discipline and hard work of your nature work to the studio. What was your lighting setup? Flash? strobes? How many and what positions? and how did you go about metering? They're very beautiful but just a little flat. Shadows add depth and will make the flowers pop out more. How's that for a vague concept? :) But if you have the ability to reposition the light(s) you should get some very different and interesting results. adjust to taste. shadows are good in many situations. So that implies it is not required. also the correct spelling is mandatory.
The solid evidence is the number of RFEs that have been issued by USCIS if you do not have a skin test.

as folks mentioned above it is totally ok to not renew AP...do it if u travellin in the next few months...
on a side note...do people here know the average time it is takin to renew AP nowdays....TSC......paper and/or electronic..?
I had put in EAD renewal at TSC and got the approved EAD in hand within a month ...that was really good speed...anyone has info on AP approval timelines???

The way EB2 is progressing now, it looks like you might get your GC in a year or two. I would definitely recommend staying with current company. Once you have GC you can choose any job you want and earn more too:-). Also, it might help you spouse with tution and job (in case no one sponsers H1). So, I would think patience is the Key.
If you really want to switch to Top company then have them sponsor in EB2 by porting priority date. If that company cannot sponsor in EB2 and you are more interesting in career the choose an other Top company that would sponsor you GC in EB2. After all they all are just consulting companies no matter big or small. If it is a client then I might grab the opportunity even though they sponsor in EB3 as at least you might be safe with them (if you are lucky!!) and don't have to travel.

I remember very clearly from last year that NOT having an A# on your approved I-140 is not a problem - Sheela Murthy was very clear about this on her calls for her clients. The 485 receipt though should have an A#.
FP is a different story. You have to get it done for 485 approval.
